This seminar provides participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of the OHSAS 18001 standard for occupational health and safety. It is an introductory course for anyone involved in the development, implementation and management of an OH&SMS based on OHSAS 18001. It provides an overview of how an organization can implement continuous improvement in terms of health and safety.
Upon completion of the seminar participants will be able to describe the purpose of an OH&SMS. Furthermore they will be able to explain the purpose, requirements and reasoning for OHSAS 18001, the related legislative framework and how the standard aids the continual improvement of the OH&SMS.
Participants planning to complete any other OHSAS training, such as internal auditor and/or the Lead Auditor Training course, this course will increase their knowledge and understanding of OHSAS 18001 upon which to build their auditing skills.
The training will be based on a combination of lectures, discussions, practical examples and teamwork exercises.
