michalisMichael is a strong believer in effective leadership and taking a hands-on approach to management. He has a desire to help companies be the best they can be because then the industry as a whole can grow resulting in overall standards improving and reaching excellence.

He has a detailed understanding of the philosophies, strategies, processes and techniques in the management of excellence in technology-based organisations and projects. He has a talent for training and motivating people to be system thinkers, to work efficiently and to be focused on providing a high level of services. With key leadership, management and technology skills he is able to advise clients on developing customer-focused products and processes. He is also knowledgeable in asset and resource management and 6 sigma.

He is currently a lecturer at the University of Nicosia on the subject of Quality Assurance Management and the Management of Change. Total Quality Management fascinates him and he is a keen researcher in the implementation of the EFQM Excellence Model in an SME context.

He holds a Masters degree in Total Quality Management (Engineering Enterprise Excellence) from the University of Warwick and an undergraduate degree from the University of Surrey in Electronic Engineering.

Michael’s professional experience includes designing, developing and implementing Quality Management Systems for companies that wish to fulfil the requirements of the various standards. He has also worked with managers and employees in helping their companies satisfy Cypriot health and safety legislation through inspections, audits, risk assessments and by supporting their Health, Safety and Environmental committees. He is an ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor.

He has worked as a flight safety program administrator in the aviation industry, as well as a senior engineer at a security company where he was responsible for planning, managing and implementing company security systems, access control systems and fire alarm and extinguishing systems.
